Manila, Cavite, Cebu and Zamboanga, the Philippines

Sulaymaniyah Education Centre

Qur'an education and Islamic studies for boarding students — running in the Philippines since 2009.

Let's form religious and wise future generations together.

The work is ordinary and it is daily: lessons taught, meals cooked, children looked after.

Who we are

Sulaymaniyah Education Centre was established in 2009 through Turkish-Filipino cooperation. Our first boys' madrasah opened in February 2010 in Cebu with one hundred students.

Today we run four branches — two in the Manila area, one in Cebu and one in Zamboanga. All teach the Qur'an and Islamic studies, and all are homes as well as schools.

We are not a large organisation. What we do is take children in, teach them, feed them, and stay where we are needed for as long as we are able.

What we do

Teaching, worship and daily life

Three strands of work, running side by side across our branches.

Education

Our Qur'an Academy teaches memorisation and recitation, alongside Islamic studies. We also partner with the Alternative Learning System so students can continue their formal schooling.

Boarding and Daily Care

Our students live with us. Three meals a day, clothing and books, and the running of our dormitories — shared between the branches as each one needs.
